As Europe's leading mozzarella business, Glanbia Cheese, continually improves through a rolling programme of capital investment

In May 2013 the Magheralin facility successfully completed the installation of a robotic auto-palletising system for ribbon cheese.  This investment of circa £1 million has increased packing capacity at the plant, whilst improving Health and Safety by significantly reducing the level of manual handling within cheese packing associated with ribbon packing.

Throughout this project the site Operations and Project Teams work closely with key equipment suppliers and automation specialists and employees to ensure that the installation work did not impact the ongoing operation and that the transition from manual to automatic packing was achieved in an effective and seamless manner.

Commenting on the installation Joe McKee (the operations project leader) complimented the teamwork between the site project team, employees and contractors which ensured an effective transition and delivery of the project.
