Investing in the talent of the future

Glanbia Cheese and the Loughry College Graduate Development Programme

The continued growth and success of our company is supported by the annual recruitment of food technology, design and nutrition degree-level graduates from the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (Loughry) in Cookstown, Co Tyrone.  The current crop of young talent includes undergraduates Alice Wilkin and Danielle Campbell, both undertaking a 14 month industrial placement within our Technical Services department, as well as four post-graduates on the first rung of their chosen career paths; Rory Houston (Sales and Marketing), Sam McBride (Operations), Valerie Tener (Operations) and Alex McAllister (Technical Services).  In addition, the Company awards a three-year financial bursary each year to a select student undergoing a food related degree at Loughry College.  The basic principle of our Development Program is to realise the full potential of graduates through project-based assignments and direct on-the-job training with the ultimate goal of transitioning high performing individuals into the Glanbia Cheese management structure.
